Lemony Snicket and random rambling randomness
Tonight I watched Series of Unfortunate Events with Jim Carrey and Jude Law and some other notables including Ced the entertainer? Ok.?! Good for Ced, Jimbo, and the other famous faces that I'm not good at putting names to. My first impression...much better than Crash. But in all seriousness, I thought this was a good flick, I mean it's still a movie targeted to apease children, but as always, those movies also target adults.
First, the cinematography was super cool. Is this a Tim Burton movie? Sure looked like it. Very nice set designs, costumes, lighting, shots, whatever. Cool special effects add a lil sometin somethin.
Second, GREAT acting. The kids were good, and the lil girl was adorable. Too cute. Jim Carrey was great. He was Jim Carrey, the Count, and a few other surprise villains. It's cool to see him develop even further as an actor.
Third, ok plot. Kinda dark. If I were a wee bit younger I don't think I'd dig on it. But it sends a good message. Life aint all cream puffs, met expectations, and ideal marriages from Never Never Land. Life is shit sometimes, maybe more than often, but hey well, ya deal, take pleasure in what you do have, those who are close, and solace in your beauty. We're all beautiful. Even annoying cocksuckers in their annoying cocksucker ways.
Tonight I am making myself a mix cd. How lame is that? I can't wait to bump it. No theme really, just randomness. Entropy in the mix. Shows I've been reading too much Pynchen I guess.
Also, I listened to my once forever lost Marvin Gaye Disc 2 of the anthalogy. That shit is un-fucking real. SOOOOO good. Gem after Gem. Just when Marvin found his voice and was coming into his own. BEfore his genius of What's Going On? days, but brilliance nonetheless, when for better or worse it was all about fun, making hits, singing love/un-loved.
Together we stand divided we fall... oooh, please don't read that patriotically.
